FAQs
Making a piece of pottery from start to finish takes roughly 2 weeks. You will need to attend a minimum of two classes if you want to both make and glaze (paint) your piece. Pieces need to be glazed and fired twice to be non-porous as well as food and dishwasher-safe.
The following diagram shows the different steps involved from start to finish.
At Padme Hum we believe in creating ceramics meant to be used and enjoyed, not just admired on a shelf.
For this, we use food-safe glazes and fire the pieces at high temperatures to ensure they are completely non-porous. Our ceramics have no harmful chemicals such as lead, arsenic, or cadmium—each piece is just beautiful, functional pottery.
Absolutely! Our ceramics do not just serve the purpose mentioned in our catalogue—their possibilities extend as far as your needs and imagination.
However you choose to use them, they will only add a personal touch to your space. And whenever you get bored of one use, just repurpose it for something new!
In Microwave:
Indeed, most of the ceramics we craft are safe to be used in the microwave. At the same time, we recommend a bit more care; because sudden temperature changes (like keeping them straight from the fridge to the microwave) could cause cracks in the pieces, over time. So, if unsure, feel free to ask us.
In Dishwasher:
We have designed our ceramics to endure dishwashing, but we recommend using a gentle cycle for the same. That being said, to keep the ceramics looking as good as new for long, hand washing is the preferable option. Handcrafted pottery is durable, but handling it with a little extra love will keep it looking its best for years.
While some of our pieces are suitable to be mounted on a wall, most of them are designed to sit on a surface. However, if you have a custom request, just leave us a message. We'll ensure to create the pottery in a way that best serves your purpose
Handmade ceramics are best crafted with a unique vision; so if you have something in mind, we'd love to hear it.
Our normal order processing time can take between 15-20 business days from the receipt of your order. It also depends upon the quantity and the complexity of the product.
